[SummerGlen] became my home away from home in no time at all!! I have met and become friends with people who i will consider as "best friends" for the rest of my life. When we first got here, people were nice, they could tell "you were the new kid on the block". They would come right over to you,introduce themselves,and before you knew it you were making plans to meet at the pool for a swim,or go to board game night,or cards,or craft times.

Now with the restaurant, more new people are meeting for drinks on the lanai or for a dinner. Never once were you made to feel unwelcome. Everyonce in a while i miss my kids and my family.But then i realize that i am happy here. They are there, somewhere else,raising their families,working toward the same goals we did. And they are happy that we are happy and having such a good time here!!! And then the day long drive or the airplane ride home to see family is not as far away or as long as you imagined!!

Living at Summerglen is like being on vacation to me... Every morning i think there is going to be my checkout papers slid under my front door!!

Why we love it here? Well only one month after moving here, my mom, who lives with us, fell and fractured her hip. After she came "Home", while she was awaiting her rental wheel chair, a SummerGlen resident loaned her one of his wheel chairs until hers arrived. And that man is a double amputee, the people here are the best. That's why we love SummerGlen.

After 100's of hours researching where my husband Dan and I wanted to start our "senior years," SummerGlen was the 5th community out of 6 that we were to visit.

My parents had retired, back in 1984, to Continental Country Club in Wildwood, Florida. We wanted to find a place just like that. Every year we would visit there for at least 3 weeks. The people there were like our second family. So friendly and caring and you felt like you were home, but much warmer!

When we drove into the SummerGlen Community, a year ago spring, we had the exact same feeling. We knew that this was our "Updated Continental".

We have met so many wonderful people. ..what can I say??? That is why we moved to this great community called "SummerGlen."

Why I love SummerGlen? Let me count the ways: We purchased a Summer Glen home that was well constructed, customizable, and, simply offered a big bang for our buck. We’re so lucky to be situated on a breezy ridge located in the center of Ocala’s beautiful horse farms.

Monthly HOA fees are quite reasonable compared to other local adult communities. We are delighted to have encountered a friendly group of active people who are eager to talk to you and who enjoy the expansive activities and amenities available at Summer Glen. People here are young at heart and take pride in being active members of this wonderful community – at approximately 1020 future home sites we will not be insignificant; yet, we will not be overbearingly humongous.

Finally, moving here as retirees has placed us in the right place at the right time with neighbors that are caring, enjoy having a good time and are eager to make Summer Glen their special “earthly paradise.” We truly believe we are on a perpetual vacation where every day is Saturday.

Why do I Love SummerGlen? First of all we come from Long Island New York with its wonderful golf courses, beaches and great neighborhoods. My wife and I have lived here most of our lives and we thought a change would be great. So we decided to look in Florida since we have family here.

We searched the internet for places besides coming down to Florida looking around. We went to the Villages and stayed a total of 5 weeks there. It seemed wonderful and friendly there. However it lacked something that we weren’t sure about. Finally I saw SummerGlen on the internet and began reading about the place. One day on our way to a cousin’s home in Citrus Springs, I asked my wife if she wanted to stop at SummerGlen, she agreed. Once we entered the area we notice how serene and beautiful the area was. The horse ranches and rolling landscapes, open land and nestled in the mist of all of this wonderful landscape was SummerGlen.

It didn’t take us long to realize that this place didn’t seem to be lacking anything. The people were friendly and seemed very happy. It wasn’t long after that we purchased a well-constructed home. Nothing changed after we bought the home. The sales people, the working staff, the construction people and the people in the community all were and still continue to be wonderful and helpful to each new and old resident of the community. SummerGlen has beautiful sites, from the golf course to the pool and recreation areas to small town community feeling. I believe that most of the residents feel that this community is just the right size where you can get to know almost everyone eventually, which makes it a close knit, caring, friendly place to live. What more can I say about living here, its like being on vacation the rest of our lives, with people who have the same dreams and likes and who Love SummerGlen.

I love SummerGlen because it’s a nice place to retire to. It’s situated in the middle of upper Florida with easy access to both coasts. SummerGlen has many amenities, but what I like most about it is how organized they are when scheduling events at the Residents' Club. The friendliness of the residents brings the community together and makes the activities both comfortable and enjoyable.

I love Summerglen! It has everything I have always envisoned in a place to retire. It is visually beautiful, the flowers and shrubs are lovely, the golf course is well maintained, and not too crowded, and it is a serene haven. My blood pressure goes down whenever I am there! I love my house, it is just perfect for us, and my husband loves the fact that it is well constructed and low maintenance! I love the friendliness of my neighbors, and I love spending time with new friends in the heated pool! Going to Mic's instead of cooking is a real treat as well, the chef there is simply gifted. There is so much to see and do in the surrounding Ocala area, but I prefer to stay and relax at Summerglen!

As a dedicated resident of "the north", I refused for years my husband's urges to retire to Florida for health reasons. Finally, to please my sweet hubby, I did agree to spend some extended time in the Ocala area to check out some of the retirement communities. I was not impressed with the larger, busier, and seemingly stressful retirement villages/communities. THEN CAME SUMMERGLEN -- beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and semi-remote! My husband loves golf, and I was totally thrilled with all of the activities and events available to residents. Roaming around and visiting some of the homes, we found the folks living on the blocks friendly, helpful, energetic, and full of encouragement to become a part of the "SummerGlen Family". What a wonderful feeling it was with all of the warmth, welcome, and WOW! Needless to say, I WAS SOLD! We have LOVED LIVING IN SUMMERGLEN FOR OVER A YEAR NOW!

I LOVE SummerGlen Because... MY WIFE is the happiest she has ever been; MY HOME is well-built, comfortable, and has no mortgage; MY NEIGHBORS are perfect-just what one would want for neighbors; MY LIFE is now one adventure after another--what with being able to do a multitude of activities, at any given time--or the ability to do absolutely nothing at all, if I so choose;

MY FRIENDS--there are so many new ones that I have been privileged to make since moving here; MY COMMUNITY--at no time in my adult lifetime have I ever been so fortunate to have met and been in the presence of such fine individuals. I have found the residents of SummerGlen to be a throwback to the time of my youth---when everyone was a part of community---when everyone waves as you pass by and says "Hello"---when all that you meet have a smile and a cheerful attitude;

AND---Finally , MY THOUGHTS--someone once asked me if I ever knew what it must feel like to die and find Heaven---Well, since I have moved to SummerGlen, I now know what it feels like to LIVE and find HEAVEN!!! (and just think---all this from a man who only moved here to make my wife happy, and in the process has found all the happiness that I could ever have....I have truly been Blessed!)

After reading "Where To Retire" magazine for a few years we were ready to start shopping for a new home and a new community. Two years ago we started shopping for our retirement future. During my winter vacation we visited 5 or 6 Central Florida retirement communities, of those we liked SummerGlen the best. Last year we returned to Florida, visited 5 different communities and SummerGlen. Once again SummerGlen came out on top. This past January I was now retired so we planed to spend 3 months in Florida shopping for a home. In the first 2 weeks we visited about 5 more communities, then returned to SummerGlen. Everything just fell into place, the house, the lot, the neighbors, and many other things, we couldn't pass it up so we bought on lot 521. It was a BIG decision for us, But we are sure we made the RIGHT decision. We won't actually move in untill September, but we are really looking forward our new life in SummerGlen

We began researching places to retire about two years ago. Having resided in Wisconsin our entire lives, we limited our retirement locations to Arizona and Florida. We scheduled a total of six different Florida locations to visit in March of 2007 - SummerGlen was to be the fifth of those. When we eventually reached SummerGlen, we cancelled the sixth stop!

Everyone here, from the sales staff to the community employees, to the construction staff, and of course, the residents themselves are all friendly, helpful, and genuine. The facilities are impressive, from eye appeal, to cleanliness, to utility. There is an almost head-spinning amount of activities in which to become involved.

After finally settling in our new home following our June 15, 2008 arrival, we are ready to begin our new life as Florida and SummerGlen residents. We look forward to having fun and being ourselves. Will our new mantra be, "What happens in SummerGlen stays in SummerGlen" ... ?

One tour and you’re sure! That was the case for us along with much research on SummerGlen’s great website. SummerGlen had all the things we were looking in a community. From golf, to swimming SummerGlen has every thing in between. We were able to get on the website from Charlotte NC and take are time and look over the models. They did not ask us to pick a model that we could live with. But allowed us to make the changes to the floor plans that would work for us! To build that perfect home that would meet our needs. Then to place it in a friendly neighborhood filled with great people looking for the same thing we were looking for. So what more can I say but, one tour and you too can be sure! Thanks SummerGlen.

The main reason I love SummerGlen is because of the residents here. I feel like we are part of a big family. Everyone waves and speaks to you when you see them (even if you don't know them). Residents here take it upon themselves to invite new residents to get-togethers to meet everyone. The pool is like a meeting place - You can relax on a float or raft and talk to your neighbors. But, if you don't feel like talking, you can just relax and close your eyes, or lie in a lawn chair and read a book. There is also a pool party here on the holidays with a DJ and plenty of good food!

I love SummerGlen because it is located in such a peaceful and almost country like setting. I love driving by the horse farms on the way home. The people here are very friendly.
