Every two years, Where To Retire selects a small number of master-planned communities in the US which it considers to offer the best in quality, value and lifestyle. SummerGlen was included in that prestigious list in 2005, 2007 and 2009. The 2011 list was announced in the July/August 2011 issue of the magazine.

According to Where To Retire, "during a nine-month selection process, our editors reviewed several hundred candidates across the country. Your community (SummerGlen) is among an elite group of developments that offer today's retiree's a well-rounded, active lifestyle."

In the course of its research, Where To Retire interviewed SummerGlen resident Vince Renna, who moved from Colorado last summer. One of the things the Renna's enjoy most about SummerGlen is its friendliness. "When you drive down the street, everybody waves," he noted. "it's also quiet and safe."
